GUELPH – Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health is hosting drop-in radon information nights in Fergus, Orangeville and Guelph in October and November.
People can get answers to their radon questions and purchase a test kit for the discounted price of $40.
Test kits are also available online at www.wdgpublichealth.ca/radon for the same discounted price with discount code “WDGPH”.
Radon is the leading cause of lung cancer in non-smokers and is linked to 16% of lung cancer deaths in Canada. Approximately 15% of homes in Wellington, Dufferin and Guelph have unsafe levels.
Information nights
Information nights will be held:
– in Fergus on Oct. 24 at Aboyne Hall in the Wellington County Museum and Archives from 4 to 7 pm;
– in Orangeville on Oct. 29 at the Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph office from 4 to 7 pm; and
– in Guelph on Nov. 12 at the Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health office from 3 to 7pm.
