FERGUS – A Zumba fundraiser is being held for Jacqueline (Jackie) Gallegos, who has been diagnosed with stage four breast cancer and bone cancer.
Gallegos lives in Elora with husband Daniel and their seven children, all under the age of 13.
The zumba and dance fundraiser on Feb. 9 was created to raise money for the Gallegos family and to let them know “they are loved and supported by their community,” organizers state in a Facebook post.
Tickets are $10 per person or $30 for a family. The event will start at 7pm at the sportsplex in Fergus.
It will begin with some fun family Zumba and then a competitive dance showcase performed by Stage Presence School of Dance (where the Gallegos children dance).
There will also be a bake sale and a raffle table.
“Please purchase a ticket – even if you can not make it and spread the word,” organizers state. “Let’s show Jackie that she is loved and not alone in this terrible fight.”
Tickets are available at https://bit.ly/2VTesvV and at the door on Feb. 9.
