Drayton Entertainment announces children’s chorus auditions for the upcoming fall productions. Young performers can audition for Anne of Green Gables, playing at the Dunfield Theatre Cambridge, and Aladdin: The Panto, playing at the St. Jacobs Country Playhouse. Auditions will take place on Sept. 10 at the Dunfield Theatre Cambridge. Advance registration is required.
Aspiring young performers, ages 9 to 15, are encouraged to attend the auditions. Dance, theatre, and singing experience are an asset and preferred. Those who plan to attend the auditions should sign up in advance and be prepared to learn the popular song Hard Knock Life from Annie, as well as learn a short dance combination, led by the creative team.
The chosen performers will be divided into teams and will perform in the children’s chorus on rotating schedules with professional actors in the lead roles.
Rehearsals for Anne of Green Gables are scheduled to begin in early October and performances will run from Oct. 14 to Nov. 8.
Rehearsals for Aladdin: The Panto are scheduled from Nov. 2 to 8 at the Dunfield Theatre Cambridge, with all remaining rehearsals and performances at the St. Jacobs Country Playhouse. Performances run from Nov. 18 to Dec. 20.
