The children’s chorus auditions for Cinderella: The Panto, on stage this holiday season at St. Jacobs Country Playhouse will take place on Sept. 11 at the Dunfield Theatre Cambridge.
Advance registration is required.
“Aspiring young performers, ages 9 to 15, are encouraged to attend the auditions,” theatre officials state in a press release.
Dance, theatre and singing experience are an asset and preferred, they say.
Hopefuls should sign up in advance and be prepared to learn the popular song Consider Yourself from Oliver!, as well as learn a short dance combination, led by Drayton Entertainment’s creative team.
To accommodate the demands of this grand-scale production, and to provide opportunities for as many youth as possible, the chosen performers will be divided into teams and will perform in the children’s chorus on rotating schedules with professional actors in the lead roles.
Rehearsals for Cinderella: The Panto will begin in late October/early November at the Dunfield Theatre Cambridge with remaining rehearsals and performances at the St. Jacobs Country Playhouse. Performances will run from Nov. 15 to Dec. 24.

Cinderella: The Panto offers a winning combination of musical numbers, fairytale characters, outrageous costumes, and audience participation, officials state.
The creative Team includes director and choreographer David Connolly and music director Marion Abbott.
Cinderella: The Panto will play at the St. Jacobs Country Playhouse from Nov. 15 through Dec. 24. Regular performance tickets are $44 for adults and $26 for youth under 20 years of age. Tickets for preview performances and groups of 20 or more are $36. HST is applicable to all ticket prices.
