You can do it, ‘any which way’

WATERLOO – The Waterloo Wellington Down Syndrome Society (WWDSS) will hold its annual “Any Which Way You Can A-thon” fundraising event on Oct. 6 in Waterloo Park.

“We all look forward to connecting with family, friends, and community supporters,” officials say.

The event will begin at 1pm with opening remarks at 2pm followed by a 2km walk and roll route, entertainment, and fundraising announcements.

“Join us to show that people of all abilities, including people with Down syndrome, are valued in our community,” organizers say.

Register as an individual or a team, invite family and friends to join your team, and start fundraising.

One hundred percent of funds raised will support essential services and programs for individuals with Down syndrome and their families.

WWDSS does not receive government funding – it is funded by the generosity of our community.

Why is it called the “Any Which Way You Can A-Thon?” The name was chosen to be inclusive of the various ways people may participate.

Down syndrome affects the mobility of individuals, often requiring physiotherapy to develop the strength, balance, and stamina to learn to walk.

Whether people walk or wheel – everyone is welcome. To register or sponsor a team or individual, or learn more, visit wwdss.ca.

WWDSS would like to thank its event sponsors. For a complete list visit wwdss.ca.
