WWLHIN creating patient experience program

The Waterloo Wellington Local Health Integration Network (WWLHIN) will create a new patient experience program for the organization.

The WWLHIN says the program will “ensure the voice of patients and families is embedded in the organization, as well as influence the provision of patient and family-centered care across the local health system.”

The first step will be the creation of a patient and family steering committee that will shape the program, including the creation of a patient and family advisory council for the WWLHIN.

“There is no greater opportunity to improve the patient experience than through the voices of patients, families, and their care teams,” said CEO Bruce Lauckner.

“We want to give patients and families the opportunity to tell us how best to leverage their input to improve their experience.”

Members of the steering committee will be recruited from across Waterloo Wellington to reflect varied health experiences and socioeconomic diversity.
