FERGUS – Staff at the McDonalds restaurant in Fergus had some fun on May 18, tossing pies at their colleagues who raised the most money on McHappy Day, which this year was on May 10.
Five crew members – Andrew Sartor, Michael Bertrand, Tammy Friesen, Chantelle Avery and Sharon Kelly – raised a combined $1,499, in support of Ronald McDonald House and as reward, they got a pie in the face.
Some of the pie tossers were family members, who took great delight in ‘pieing’ their loved one.
Other tossers just happened to be in the store and volunteered when the event took place.
The restaurant owner has pledged to match the amount raised by these employees.
