World premiere brings Giant on Nov. 29

Theatre Orangeville is proud to present the world premiere of The Giant’s Garden, with book and lyrics by Peter Fenton and Scott White, and music by White.
The musical makes its debut on Nov. 29.
The show brings “giant” talent to the stage, with Blythe Wilson as Winter (star of Mamma Mia and Stratford Festival, Nancy in Oliver and Laurey in Oklahoma); Leisa Way as Summer (star of A Tribute to Patsy Cline, and U.S. tours of Peter Pan and I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change); Barrie Wood as Bird (Beauty and the Beast and six seasons at Stratford); Michael MacLennan as Giant (Beauty and the Beast); and Dale Miller as Flower (from Cats and Forever Plaid).
The script was inspired by the Oscar Wilde story, The Selfish Giant, and was developed in part through Theatre Orangeville’s new play development initiative.
Directed by Artistic Director David Nairn, The Giant’s Garden has Summer and Winter battle out the seasons in a magic garden, and they are saved from their selfishness by the children.
There are two talented young actors from the community who co-star in the production, along with 100 wonderful voices of the Theatre Orangeville Youth Singers (TOYS).
The Giant’s Garden runs from Nov. 29 to Dec. 23 at Theatre Orangeville. For tickets, call Theatre Orangeville’s box office at 800-424-1294, or visit Theatre Orangeville at www.theatreorangeville.ca.
