Mayor Cam Guthrie is hosting a World Mental Health Day on Oct. 11 with a series of guest speakers talking about the circle of care: self help, peer support, family support and service animals.
The event will take place from 9:30 to 11:30am (presentation begins at 10am) at Guelph City Hall in the council chamber.
The event speakers include: Tracey Hagyard, volunteer self help facilitator; Keely Phillips, manager of self help and peer support, Canadian Mental Health Association; Elaine Paton, family navigator for mental health; Robert de Boyrie, mental health advocate and speaker; and Thea Trussler, client services coordinator for National Service Dogs
The event also features an art installation from Spark of Brilliance, and a local information fair.
