Looking for ideas to get by with little cash?
The Guelph and Wellington task force for poverty elimination is hosting a free, one-day event to provide tips and resources for those Living on Less.
It will take place April 10, from 9:30am to 3:30pm, at the Shelldale Centre.
“As a task force, our long-term goal is to eliminate poverty altogether,” said Rev. Paul Clarkson, from Three Willows United Church, and one of the event organizers. “However, we realize that there is a need to help those living in poverty right now; to make their burden a little easier.
Living on Less will feature workshops on a variety of topics, including feeding a family on a tight budget, tenants’ rights, managing debt and more. People can choose to attend those sessions that interest them most.
The day includes a free lunch.
Child care and bus passes are also available free for those attending the event. Those needing child care are asked to register by April 1 to ensure space.
