The Minto Chamber of Commerce congratulated Tammy Donaldson, of Harriston, for winning the first ever $300 Minto shopping spree.
The draw was held on Dec. 10 at the chamber’s annual holiday business appreciation social. A large crowd was on hand for the networking event held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 296, in Harriston.
Mayor David Anderson and Minto Chamber of Commerce president John Burgess made the draw from nearly 600 entries. The contest was open to anyone who went to the Minto Chamber web site at www.mintochamber.on.ca and completed an entry form.
Donaldson was hosted on the shopping trip by Minto chamber director Glen Hall.
She took the opportunity for shopping at a variety of Minto chamber retailers on Dec. 22. The shopping began at Four Seasons’ Floral, where a Poinsettia was presented by Hall to Donaldson before the shopping spree began.
The trip covered most of Minto with purchases at Scoop It for Christmas treats and food. Donaldson also picked up a number of Christmas gifts at various other locations.
The trip also included lunch in Clifford and home improvement purchases.
It was easy for Donaldson to spend the $300 prize in a couple of hours.
