A woman out for a routine walk with her dog on Tuesday was shocked to find her vehicle had been set on fire.
On Nov. 24 at about 1pm, Wellington County OPP and Guelph firefighters responded to the call on Conservation Road at the Guelph Lake Conservation Area.
Police say the woman parked her pick-up truck on the south side of the road and took her dog for a 25-minute walk.
When she returned, she saw smoke inside the truck, discovered the front driver’s seat and visor were "melted" and she smelled "a strong odour of gas," police stated in a press release.
A Guelph Fire Prevention officer at the scene determined the fire, which went out on its own, is "suspicious."
Officers patrolled the area but were unable to locate any suspects.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact them at 1-888-310-1122 or, to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or submit a tip on-line at www.csgw.tips.
