White elected to AMO board

At the 110th conference of the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO), Guelph-Eramosa Mayor Chris White was elected to the board of directors.

As a member of the board and the rural caucus, White will help set policy for the association.

“AMO’s board of directors benefits from membership from across the province, reflecting the diversity of Ontario’s municipal governments,” said AMO President, Peter Hume.

“To that end, I am pleased to have Chris on the 2009-2010 board team. The board will continue its efforts to see properly funded municipal governments.”

AMO’s priorities are focused on achieving fiscal sustainability for municipal governments and strengthening municipal legislative authority. It represents about 455 municipalities in Ontario.
