Whiskey Jack to perform in Fergus

For four decades, Whiskey Jack has been performing Canadian country music coast to coast.

Stompin’ Tom Connors was a fan of Whiskey Jack and when he returned to the recording studio after retirement he called Whiskey Jack’s leader Duncan Fremlin and asked the band to join him in the studio to record Dr. Stompin’ Tom… Eh?.

Connors and Whiskey Jack continued to perform and record often together until Connor’s death in 2014.

Those years with Stompin’ Tom Connors inspired the show Whiskey Jack will bring to Fergus on May 26, Stories and Songs of Stompin’ Tom.

This band includes founding member and band leader, Duncan Fremlin (vocal and banjo), two time Juno Award nominee Douglas John Cameron (vocal and guitar/accordion), five time National Bluegrass Fiddle Champion Randy Morrison (fiddle), bass player Eric Jackson and Al Cross on drums.

Whiskey Jack will be performing Stories and Songs of Stompin’ Tom at the Fergus Grand Theatre at 8pm on  May 26.

Tickets are $45 and are available at the Fergus Grand Theatre box office, by calling 519-787-1981 or online at fergusgrandtheatre.ca.

Tickets are also available at the door.
