PALMERSTON – “Where Have You Bean?” is the theme of the 2023 Palmerston Agricultural Fair.
Hosted by the Palmerston Agricultural Society, the event runs from Aug. 25 to 27 at the fairgrounds at the Palmerston Community Centre.
The event kicks off Friday with the placing of exhibits and judging through the day.
The annual fair parade gets underway at 6pm through the downtown.
The arena will be open following the parade with exhibits, food booths a “Try It” curling event and the popular Taste of Minto.
From 6:30 to 9pm, youngsters can enjoy pony rides and inflatables. The inflatables will be set up on the fair grounds throughout the event and admission wristbands for the weekend are $10.
Saturday is a busy one at the fair, beginning with the Palmerston Kinette’s pancake breakfast at the community centre from 8 to 10am.
A Tailgate Garage Sale will be held in the arena parking lot from 8 to 11am and the day also features a pet show, reptile show, chili cookoff and the Minto Farmers Market Corn Eating Contest.
The Auction of Champions is scheduled for 3pm and The Consolers will provide live music from 4 to 9pm in the beverage garden.
Sunday’s activities begin with a 10am church service, followed by refreshments.
A dog agility show, face painting, zucchini races and an alpaca display are among the other Sunday activities. New this year will be a horse vaulting demonstration at 1pm.
Festivities will conclude with a roast beef dinner hosted by the Palmerston Marlins.
