Wellington resident Andrea Bird puts on 35 year retrospective

ALTON – Andrea Bird (AOCA) is an artist, teacher and a long-time resident of Wellington County.

She has taught art for decades, both at the Elora Centre for the Arts and at the school she and her husband created: The Hive in the Alton Mill Art Centre in Caledon.

As Bird takes some time away from teaching (due to a cancer diagnosis), she is celebrating her career with a show that brings together art from the past 35 years.

There will be more than 50 pieces on display at Paul Morin’s Gallery in Alton (19741 Main Street in Alton).

Borrowing back pieces from the collectors has been a labour of love, and the show is appropriately called This is love.

Love went into the making of each painting. The response from all those involved is one of enthusiasm and support.

The show runs until May 19. Bird will be present on May 11 and 19 from 1 to 4pm.

Gallery hours are Wednesday to Sunday from 10am to 5pm.
