KENILWORTH – Wellington North has now opened parks, sports fields and pavilions.
The township made the announcement on May 28, nine days after the province announced it was entering stage one of COVID-19 reopenings.
Now open in Wellington North are multi-use fields (baseball diamonds, soccer fields, basketball courts, and skate parks) and picnic sites, benches and shelters in parks and recreational areas.
Specifically, township officials have opened:
- Arthur fairgrounds, pavilions and sports fields;
- Mount Forest fairgrounds, pavilions and sports fields; and
- Mount Forest and District pavilions and sports fields.
“We remind residents to maintain physical distancing of two metres or six feet while using these amenities and that restrictions of gatherings of more than five people remain in effect, unless they are members of the same household,” stated the township press release.
Officials stressed that playgrounds and splash pads remain closed.
