The potential sale of Wellington North Power now seems dim if councillor Ross Chaulk’s gut instincts are correct.
In a report to council, the finance committee recommended council investigate the sale of the utility and finance chairman Chaulk and Treasurer John Jeffrey meet with John McLeod to further research the issue for council quickly.
Chaulk noted that part of the report is old News, as that meeting had already taken place. He said the meeting provided insights as to what the utility might be worth.
That amount was a lot less than anticipated, although Chaulk was reluctant to provide any dollar figures.
“My gut instinct is that this may not go much further.”
He explained that is his personal opinion and the matter had not been discussed by councillors.
