A Wellington North man is dead after a serious collision here last week.
On July 24 shortly before 11pm, a Perth County OPP officer came upon a two-vehicle collision that had just occurred on Highway 23 north of Line 84 in Listowel.
Police say an Oldsmobile Intrigue was travelling north bound on Highway 23, when it collided with the back of a northbound Freightliner truck and full sized trailer that had pulled onto the highway from Line 84.
The lone occupant of the Intrigue, Alex John Szablowski, 27, of Wellington North, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The truck driver, a 61-year- old male from Harriston, sustained minor injuries.
Highway 23, from Line 81 to Barnett Street West, was closed to traffic for about eight hours. Perth County OPP requests anyone with information that can assist police call 1-888-310-1122.
