SOUTHGATE – A Wellington North man faces several charges after vehicle and gas thefts here.
On Jan. 8 at about 5:47am Grey Bruce OPP officers were dispatched to a theft of a motor vehicle from a residence on Main Street East in Dundalk.
“The suspect was later involved in a gas theft from a local gas station,” police stated in a press release.
“The suspect later abandoned this vehicle and stole another motor vehicle from a residence in Markdale. The vehicle eventually got stuck in the snow on a no winter maintenance roadway and officers arrested the driver without further incident. “
Kenneth McCool, 30, of Wellington North, was charged with theft of a motor vehicle, theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime (over $5,000), driving while prohibited, failing to comply with an undertaking and failing to comply with a release order. He was to attend a bail hearing in Owen Sound on Jan. 11.
