WELLINGTON NORTH – The township is considering offering a Summer Day Camp program in Arthur and Mount Forest in 2019.
To that end, Wellington North launched a public survey on Nov. 20 through SurveyMonkey.
It will remain open until the end of December.
Running a Summer Day Camp Program was labelled a “medium priority” in the Recreation Master Plan approved by Wellington North council in April 2018.
The survey was created in order to gauge the level of community interest.
According to community recreation coordinator Mandy Jones, the survey has already had a surprising amount of engagement.
“In the first 24 hours we received 118 responses,” she said.
In the meantime, a proposed program based on best practices from neighbouring municipalities has been used as a guide for questions in the survey. It suggests the program run for eight weeks from the start of July to the second last week of August for children aged five to 11.
However, nothing is finalized while the survey is ongoing. Those interested can find the survey on the official Wellington North website, and the Township of Wellington North Facebook page.
