WELLINGTON NORTH – The Wellington North Farmers’ Market returns to Victory Church and Community Centre for its tenth season on June 17.
It’s a sign of spring’s imminent arrival, councillor Sherry Burke remarked on Feb. 6.
At the meeting council approved an agreement with the church, where the market will take place each Saturday between June 17 and Sept. 30, from 8:30am to noon.
Mayor Andy Lennox said he’s happy to see ongoing interest and community involvement in the market.
“A farmers’ market is a good opportunity for the community to connect,” economic development officer Dale Small stated in a press release about the kickoff.
The market provides an opportunity for the community to support local farmers and producers, Small said, “thus contributing to our local economy.”
It’s expected many of last year’s vendors will return this year. Anyone wanting to participate can contact the township.
