Wellington Heights welcomes new crop of Grade 9 students

MOUNT FOREST – The Wellington Heights Secondary School LINK Crew students and staff have been working hard for several weeks to organize activities to help incoming Grade 9 students transition to high school, including an orientation day at the school on Aug. 28.

Students played team games with the support of their LINK Crew senior student mentors, explored the school, received their timetables and met their teachers and school administrators.

From Sept. 25 to 27, Grade 9 students attended camp at YMCA Camp Ki-Wa-Y near St. Clements, where they had the opportunity to build relationships with fellow Grade 9 students, senior LINK leaders and teachers.

They participated in a wide variety of outdoor activities, including archery, high ropes activities, rock climbing, low ropes activities, team games, shelter building and geocaching.
