MOUNT FOREST — Wellington Guelph Drug Strategy held a drug poisoning awareness day event on Aug. 24 at the corner of King and Main Streets in Mount Forest. Elsa Mann, middle, team lead of the Rural Wellington Community Team, started off the event, then handed the mic off to Karen Lomax with Arch Guelph, left, and Van Team Lead, Cory Gillies, right, who shared stories about drug poisoning awareness.
The event included a moment of silence for those who have lost their lives to drug poisoning as well as a “die-in,” where participants laid on the ground and were traced with a chalk outline. White roses were laid on the outlines to symbolize those who died.
