Safe Communities of the Grand has partnered with various community agencies and local pharmacies to offerthe Wellington County Safe Medication Clean-Out program
Residents are encouraged to clean out their medication cabinetand bring old prescription and non-prescription medications to one of these participating pharmacies during Canadian Patient Safety Week, Oct. 29- Nov. 2:
– Arthur – Walsh’s IDA Pharmacy;
– Drayton – Mapleton Health Centre;
– Elora – Shoppers Drug Mart;
– Erin- Pharma Plus;
– Fergus- Shoppers Drug Mart,Grand River Pharmacy,St. Andrews, IDA Pharmacy, Drug Store Pharmacy at Zehrs;
– Harriston – Acheson Pharmasave;
– Mt. Forest – Drugstore at No Frills,Shoppers Drug Mart;
– Palmerston – The Prescription Shoppe;
– Rockwood- Rockwood Pharmacy.
Never dispose of medication down the toilet, sink, or household garbage. These practices may put you and your family at risk of injury and have harmful effects on wildlife and environment.
You can also safely dispose of medication at any County of Wellington Household Hazardous Waste event day or ask your pharmacy about their safe medication disposal program.
