During the Economic Developers Association of Canada’s 43rd national conference here the Wellington County municipal economic development group was recognized with first prize for its Wellington County Festivals & Events Guide in the (printed collateral over 4 pages single publication) cateory and for its www.wellingtonfestivals.ca digital media – niche/microsite submission in the 2011 Marketing Canada awards.
This year’s program attracted 106 submissions from across Canada. The Economic Developers Association of Canada is Canada’s national organization of economic development professionals, representing over 900 members.
Its mission is to enhance the professional competence of economic development professionals and ensure placement of qualified people in the field of economic development, to advance economic development as a distinct, recognized, and self governing profession and to contribute to Canada’s well being. Its awards program is open to those organizations that undertake to promote and market Canadian provinces, territories, regions, cities, towns, and areas with a view to improving the economic well-being of Canadians.
