WATERLOO – The Wellington County Soil and Crop Improvement Association is sponsoring a twilight meeting and industry tour on July 15.
Scheduled stops include a tour of the FuelPositive Manufacturing facility at 400 Conestogo Rd. W., Waterloo at 6:30pm.
FuelPositive Corporation is a leading green ammonia company committed to providing commercially viable and sustainable, “cradle to cradle” clean energy solutions, officials say.
At 7:45pm, the tour will move to Winterose Farms, at 1220 Lundy Rd. Westmontrose. Dennis and Helen Martin, of Winterose Farms, have a solar tracker.This was part of the Green Energy program in 2009.
Dennis will discuss how he got into the program, the pros and cons of entering into the contract, the economics and risks of the solar tracker, and will discuss an update on the future of his rooftop solar project.
Quentin Martin from Cribit Seeds will also be on hand to discuss his barley operations as far as markets and opportunities for growers.
Any interested producers may attend the tour. The tour will be free, however participants must become a member of the The Wellington County Soil and Crop Improvement Association.
