WeeAlec Productions announces spring concerts

Local music promoter WeeAlec Productions has announced its spring lineup of concerts coming to Fergus.  

It includes an array of traditional and Celtic musicians from Scotland, Ireland, Ontario, Newfoundland and Cape Breton.

March 1

The Outside Track will be performing at the Fergus Grand Theatre on March 1.  

Cape Breton fiddler and step dancer Mairi Rankin joins fellow band members from Scotland and Ireland for an evening of Celtic music and dance.  

Adults tickets are $30 and   youth tickets are $15.

April 6  

The National Tartan Day Concert will be held at Melville United Church on April 6.  

A gathering of international and local musicians celebrate with an evening of Scottish music and song.  

Gaelic/English singer Alyth McCormack, from the Isle of Lewis, Scotland will be joined by Tony McManus (guitar), Julia Toaspern (guitar/fiddle), Jacob McCauley (Bodhrán).  Michael Baker will be the featured bagpiper. Adult tickets are $30 and youth tickets are $15.

April 25

Còig will be performing at the Fergus Grand Theatre on April 25. Award winning ambassadors of Cape Breton music, Còig includes Chrissy Crowley, Rachel Davis, Darren McMullen and Jason Roach. Adults tickets are $30 and youth tickets are $15.

May 24 

An Evening with Matthew Byrne comes to the Fergus Grand Theatre on May 24. 

Newfoundland traditional singer, guitarist, storyteller and winner of the 2018 Canadian Folk Music Award for Traditional Album of the Year, Matthew Byrne will perform a solo concert. Adult $25 and youth $15.
