Last year the township increased the balance of its reserve accounts by about $1.8-million.
At the beginning of 2008 the township had about $1.9-million in reserve funds – which includes development charges, the federal gas tax revenue, and water and wastewater lifecycle contributions. By Dec. 31, reserve funds totaled $2.2-million.
The balance of reserves – including working capital, and funds set aside for the fire department, transportation, environmental, health services and parks and recreation projects – went from $1.7-million to $3.2-million.
Total reserves went from $3.6-million to $5.4-million.
