Athletes are busy training for the Guelph Lake Triathlon held at Guelph Lake Conservation Area on the weekend of June 20 and 21. At this point 1679 athletes are entered to race in a variety of races. With 10 days until the first race this amount is already more than registered in 2008 and the beginners Merrell Try-a-Tri is already sold out with 415 participants. The event offers events for the beginner to the Olympic distance Triathletes. The 2009 race is coming close to being the largest triathlon ever held in Ontario.
As of June 17, the Sprint Tri-athlon has sold out. At this this point 1921 are registered for the weekend … making it the largest Triathlong ever held in Ontario.

The Guelph Lake Triathlon is the fourth event of the 9 race Subaru Triathlon Series held each year in Ontario.
