The Guelph Service Canada Centre for Youth (SCCY) is now open and ready to assist businesses and young workers with summer employment needs.
“Whatever the job – big or small, short or long term – we can help you fill it,” said Youth Services Officer Andrew Sturgess. “In coming weeks, officers will be contacting local employers to make them aware that our SCCY is now open and ready to assist them in any way it can.”
Service Canada centres link youth and employers. The centres provide young people with job postings, interview advice, résumé building and job search strategies, and employers with a location to post job openings. SCCYs also provide valuable information on health and safety in the workplace.
This year, employers interested in using the services and youth looking for summer employment can visit the Guelph SCCY between 8:30am and 4pm at 259C Woodlawn Road West, or call 519-767-2076 or 519-767-2559, fax 519-826-2257, or e-mail andrew.sturgess@servicecanada.gc.ca or bradley.aube@servicecanada.gc.ca.
Job postings are available online at www.jobbank.gc.ca., under Student Job Search, Ontario, Kitchener and Area, and then Guelph. For more information call 1 800 O-Canada or visit servicecanada.gc.ca.
