FERGUS – For the past month, a group of local weavers worked on this tapestry at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex – part of Culture Days events in the township. On Oct. 30 the tapestry was unveiled by Mary-Anne Dalkowski, and Lea Seeley to reveal a bird’s-eye view map of Centre Wellington. The greens are farms, the multi-coloured centre is Elora and Fergus, and Inverhaugh, Ennotville, and Belwood are the red squares on their own. There’s still work to be done on the tapestry – the Grand River will be stitched through the villages and the piece will be blocked and framed. Organizers hope it will find a permanent home in a public place one day.
