MOUNT FOREST – Three people are facing serious criminal charges after being found by Wellington OPP officers with a grey pickup truck police say was believed to be stolen.
On Jan. 27 at around 8:30am, police located the vehicle on Main Street North in Mount Forest.
In a Jan. 29 press release about the occurrence, written following a request from the Advertiser, police did not provide any detail about how exactly officers came to find the three people seen with the truck in possession of three pellet guns, two collapsible batons and narcotics.
As a result of the police interaction, three people are now facing 21 charges, and as of Jan. 27, were being remanded for a bail hearing.
Pauline Laura Shearer, 41, of South Bruce Peninsula, was charged with:
- unauthorized possession of weapon;
- possession of weapon for dangerous purpose;
- possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order;
- personation with intent to avoid arrest, prosecution or obstruct justice;
- occupant of motor vehicle taken without consent;
- failing to comply with a release order (other than to attend court);
- failing to comply with a probation order;
- possession of a Schedule I substance (opioid other than heroin); and
- possession of a Schedule I substance (methamphetamine).
Brandon William Boettinger, 31, of Woodstock, was charged with:
- unauthorized possession of weapon;
- possession property obtained by crime under $5,000;
- possession property obtained by crime over $5,000;
- possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose;
- failing to comply with a release order (other than to attend court);
- failing to comply with a probation order; and
- possession of a Schedule I substance (opioid other than heroin).
Kelsey Marie Chapman, 21, of Central Huron, was charged with:
- unauthorized possession of weapon;
- possession of weapon for dangerous purpose;
- occupant of motor vehicle taken without consent;
- failing to comply with a release order (other than to attend court); and
- possession of a Schedule I substance (opioid other than heroin).
