WCDSB reports successful WHY Survey participation rates

GUELPH – A Well-being and Health Youth (WHY) Survey was completed by Wellington Catholic District School Board (WCDSB) students, parents and staff last week.

And director of education Michael Glazier said “The results show a very high participation rate.

“The survey, which is provided to students in Grades 4 to 12 has had almost 4,500 responses, or over 78 per cent of possible responses,” Glazier notes in his March 4 report to the board of trustees. “It was amazing.”

Aid in planning

The completed surveys include about 1,350 from parents and 250 from teachers, his report continues.

“The results will help our staff in their planning for school improvement initiatives, safe school plans and help inform our three-year mental health plan and yearly action plans,” Glazier said.

The survey is conducted in partnership with Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health and the Upper Grand District School Board.
