We have already had the lecture at home about open water and puddles. Another year or two will surely have the twins rolling their eyes that dad would bring it up again.
The Grand River Conservation Authority has already issued several warnings to residents and we hope people heed them. Any time the snow and ice thaws, there is a great chance of trouble for pedestrians with poor footing. All it takes is a slip and a slide to turn into a deadly turn of events.
Nature can be beautiful, and certainly roaring waterways filling to the brim with groundwater can be magical. But the allure is only shadowed by its danger. Very easily, bystanders can be swept away if they get too close.
Please pay attention to our young people and watch for daring youngsters that might think it’s fun playing with water. The risk is too great.
