ERIN – Town officials have released a construction progress report regarding Trafalgar Road paving.
The construction of Trafalgar Road gravity sewer has been completed and the remaining works include paving the top asphalt from the Elora-Cataract Trail to Upper Canada Drive, stated the Aug. 23 press release.
“The paving is part of the overall wastewater project and was budgeted as such,” Erin communications officer Chris Vernon told the Advertiser in an email.
The paving works will include roadway preparation and the placement of asphalt which will take approximately three weeks, from Aug. 26 to Sept. 13.
“The stretch being paved is approximately one km in length and will not take longer than anticipated, unless there is significant rain,” noted Vernon.
During this time, Trafalgar Road will experience lane closures and road users should expect delays if travelling through Hillsburgh, officials stated.
To maintain two-way traffic, flag persons will be on site. Access to homes and businesses within the active construction zone, as well as access for emergency vehicles, will be maintained during the paving works, stated the release.
