Warriors win 6-4

The Centre Wellington 46 Warriors hockey team defeated Centre Wellington 41 at the Elora rink on Dec. 28. Despite being outshot 28 to 18, the Warriors were victorious in a 6-4 decision.

Goalie Kyle Young made 24 saves and the defence protected the net and cleared the puck, with Seamus Hotson and Cole McKenna standing out.

Hayden Ireland scored first for the team, assisted by Duncan Woodard and Dillon Bendig. At 1:58 into the second, Ireland put the Warriors ahead, after being tripped at the first face off.  

In the third period Ireland tied the game early and then assisted with the go-ahead goal by Patyon Restivo. The game-winning fifth goal was scored by Garret Vander Velde. Ireland then added an insurance goal (his fourth).
