PERTH WELLINGTON – The new People’s Party of Canada (PPC) will field a candidate in this riding in the Oct. 21 federal election.
Ken Metzger was acclaimed at a meeting of the party’s riding association on May 7 at the Steve Kerr Memorial Complex in Listowel.
Metzger has been a resident of the Perth-Wellington riding for many years and currently lives on a farm near Wallenstein. He owns Metzger Veterinary Services and has practiced in Linwood for over 25 years.
A press release from the party states Metzger is running “because he believes Perth-Wellington deserves a federal representative with vision that is committed to its constituents.”
The release states Metzger will focus on reform of the supply management system, ending “corporate welfare,” lower taxes, getting “pipelines built” and abolishing the federal carbon tax.
