The second annual Waddies Classic was held at the Fergus Legion on May 27 and on the line were bragging rights and $1,000 to the winning team. Two-person teams came from as far away as New York, Kincardine, Simcoe as well a good number of local entries. The game was invented during the Second World War but a group headed by Andy Speers has brought it back to life, both selling and promoting the game. The object of the game is to throw a rubber “puck” through a hole in a wooden box from 12 feet away. This year “The Boomers” won the $1,000 prize.
