Visser: no secret to identity of coward behind letters

In the last meeting of this term, outgoing Puslinch councillor Dick Visser announced he knows the identity of the “coward” behind the anonymous Newsletters circulating the township.

“I think most of us know who it is,” Visser said of the unsigned poison-pen letters, which accuse councillors and township staff members of various personal, political and legal wrongdoings.

The Newsletters are penned anonymously by what appears to be an individual or group from within the township. They began appearing intermittently in area mailboxes about 18 months ago.

Visser said on Monday night he has heard similar content, which appears to be from the same source, may now be available on the Internet.

Visser hinted a single male seems to be behind the Newsletters, though he did not go as far as to name him. Visser said he knows the man, who continually “hides behind his father.”

Visser noted he ran into the individual about a year ago at a restaurant, but the man quickly “ducked out” of the establishment because he is “such a coward.”

“I wish he would just bugger off,” Visser said. No other councillors commented on the Newsletters.
