Police are looking are investigating after what they are calling a potentially “fatal” incident involving vehicle mischief.
On Aug. 1, Wellington County OPP received a report that someone had loosened the tires on a vehicle on William Street in Palmerston sometime prior to July 30.
“The mischief was identified before loss or damages to person or property,” stated a press release from the OPP, which added police “are actively seeking to identify if this is an isolated incident.”
Police are reminding the public that a vehicle, “in anything less than 100% operational condition, could result in a hazardous, even fatal, situation.”
The OPP is encouraging everyone to routinely check their vehicle to ensure no one has tampered with it. If you suspect your vehicle has been tampered with call your local police service and report it.
