Township officials here are reminding residents that the use of municipal water for lawn or garden watering, fountains, washing automobiles or filling swimming pools is restricted.
The municipal regulations include:
– homes with even house numbers can only water on even calendar days and those with odd numbers can only water on odd-numbered calendar days; and
– sprinkling or watering is only permitted between the hours of 5 and 7am and 7 to 10pm.
People must obey watering restrictions or fines may result.
“With the dry spring that we just encountered, along with the heat of summer, we have seen an increase in water use throughout the township,” said Karen McMillan, environmental support coordinator.
“Although we are meeting the current water demand, we would like to remind residents of our on-going watering restrictions and that these are especially important to abide by when it is hot and dry.”
