The County’s Green Legacy program has been awarded a $1,000 Centennial community grant from Union Gas to support local tree planting.
Union Gas is celebrating 100 years of service to customers and across Ontario in 2011.
The award is one of 100 grants of $1,000 each that Union Gas is giving to support charitable projects focused on the environment, community safety, and education across the province.
“A passionate commitment to stewardship, safety, and win-win relationships are all central to our business culture and operations,” said Murray Costello, district manager of Waterloo and Brantford for Union Gas.
Warden Chris White said, “I would like to thank Union Gas for this generous grant. This contribution will help fund tree planting projects in the County of Wellington this fall.”
