They won’t be rushing out to any emergencies just yet, but the two new tanker trucks Wellington North Fire Service has purchased are being readied for their official unveiling.
Councillor Mark Goetz, chairman of the fire committee, told council at its meeting on June 17 the service has taken possession of the two trucks which will be stationed at the departments in Arthur and Mount Forest.
“We’ll be doing an official presentation once they’re ready to go,” Goetz told council.
The cost of each tanker truck was $220,575.
