PUSLINCH – A Puslinch man and Guelph man have been charged following a drug bust here last week.
On March 26 at about 9:30am, Wellington County OPP officers, joined by Perth and Huron officers and the West Region Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant on Wellington Road 34 in Puslinch Township.
On the same date, Guelph Police assisted in executing a search warrant at a residence in the City of Guelph that was related to the investigation.
During the searches, officers seized a quantity of suspected cocaine, heroin, morphine and psilocybin, as well as Canadian currency and drug paraphernalia.
“The drugs seized have an estimated street value of over $145,000,” police stated in a press release, adding close to $30,000 in cash was also seized.
Pierre Andre Thibault, 50, of Puslinch Township, was charged with three counts of possession of a Schedule 1 substance (cocaine, heroin and morphine), and two counts of possession of a controlled substance (psilocybin and heroin).
Warren Effting, 35, of Guelph, was charged with possession of a controlled substance (cocaine).
Both men are scheduled to appear in Guelph court at a later date.
