On Oct. 28, the directors and staff of the Fergus Truck Show presented cheques totaling $45,986 to 25 area groups that assisted at this year’s event. The groups worked a combined total of 6,569 hours, and the presentation brings the total raised by the Fergus Truck Show for community groups and Fergus Recreation to more than $645,450.
This year’s attendance reached just over 72,000, up from last year’s numbers.
President Don Watson said, “The support of all Fergus Truck Show co-sponsors, the truck and tractor pull sponsors, the individual award sponsors, the equipment and service suppliers, spectators and participants allows the show to grow … and assists local groups in fund raising.”
The groups assisting had a total of more than 1,100 volunteers. In addition, there were hundreds of individual non group volunteers working during the weekend event.
