On March 25 at 2pm, the Vox Tromboni Slide by Slide Trombone Quartet will perform in the Gallery Concert series at the Wellington County Museum and Archives.
The audience will hear live music in an intimate setting, and be surrounded by the present exhibit The Tarot Lovers: Works of Heart.
This exhibit has inspired the interpretations of 45 local artists in relation to the lovers’ tarot card.
The Slide by Slide Trombone quartet concert features the many voices of the trombone. A variety of musical styles will be performed as solos, duets and quartets.
Some selections from the program are Cello Suite #1, by Bach, presumably transposed for trombone, Cavatine by Camille Saint-Saens, Suite Parisienne by John Mortimer, Tokyo Triptych by Phili-Sparke, All the Things You Are by Jerome Kern and Round Midnight by Thelonius Monk.
The quartet includes musicians: John Monkhouse, Dave Davidson, Jim Edwards and Susan Follows.
There is a short intermission when the audience can view yhe exhibits at the museum. After the concert the audience is invited to stay for refreshments with friends and speak with the musicians.
The next and last concert of the season is set for April 6.
