Centre Wellington Township has been active with roads and bridges and other capital work in the past year, and council recently learned the work is continuing.
Public Works Superintendent Ken Elder presented council with a list of capital works projects that ran for five pages.
Elder’s report stated that the master water supply plan and an aquifer capacity test began in May and is expected to be done by December.
There will be a report from a pilot test for a well in Fergus that was to be completed in July. Another Fergus well was to be back in operation around that time, too.
In June, the Elora waste water treatment plant and the Clyde Street Pumping Station was to have its 30 day review period completed, and the final design was expected to take until December. Elder expected the tender to be called in early 2011. Construction was expected to take until March 31, 2012.
The source water committee was to finalize its assessment report and submit it to the Ministry of Environment by the end of August. Then, developing the source water plan for the entire watershed was to take until sometime late in 2012.
Construction of the water tower in the north end of Fergus was scheduled to start in late July this year and be completed by September of next year.
A Middlebrook Road structure in Pilkington was to have its final design done last month, with the tender released and construction to take until the end of March.
A Jones Baseline structure in West Garafraxa had its environmental assessment to be done last month and also the public review. The final design is to be done this month, and the tender let by the end of the month. The work is set to be done by the end of next March.
The Sideroad 20 structure in West Garafraxa is to have its environmental assessment done this month, and public review is set to take place in the next two months.
On the 3rd Line West, the Carroll Creek bridge in Pilkington is to get its environmental assessment completed by this month, and a public review is set for the next two months.
The 8th Line bridge in Pilkington at Wilson’s Flats is set to be completed by December.
The Gregson Court stormwater management facility is to have its design completed by the end of this month.
The Geddes Street trunk watermain in Elora is done, and the Metcalfe Street project has some work that is expected to be done this month.

Church Street reconstruction was expected to be done by July. Work on Kertland Street in Elora, St. David Street North, in Fergus, and Gowrie Street, in Fergus, was finished.
Work on Tower Street South in Fergus was expected to be finished by October.
Paving on St. David and Gowrie Streets in Fergus was to be done by mid September.
Asphalt on rural roads like the 7th Line of West Garafraxa, Gerrie Road in Nichol, and the 2nd Line of Pilkington is to be completed by September.
The work on Sideroad 19 in Nichol, including Victoria Crescent and Burnett Court (in the north end of Fergus) is set to be completed by November. That includes sewer, water, paving sidewalks, and catch basins.
Erb Street, in Salem, was scheduled to be rebuilt by the middle of this month.
Gzowski Street with reconstruction of the west side, including a Gordon Street sidewalk and a pedestrian crosswalk at Gordon Street is to be done by October.
The township also has plans for Water Street in Elora, also known as South River Road. The pre-engineering and design for sidewalk and drainage is to be done by mid September.
There is also some plans for the 1st Line of West Garafraxa, with early engineering scheduled for completion this month.
Finally there is a design to be completed for Sideroad 18 in Nichol. It is scheduled for completion in mid September.
Mayor Joanne Ross-Zuj commented that it is a very busy summer in the township.
