Puslinch council has approved a tender to rebuild a portion Ellis Road, including the intersection at 10th?Sideroad.
Last week council accepted the low bid from Cox Construction for $476,505.
Councillor Dick Visser said that amount seems high, given the project entails “less than a mile of road” and the original budget was around $330,000.
Councillor Matthew Bulmer said the budget was actually $400,000 and with the HST rebate, there will be only about a $20,000 cost overrun.
Council unanimously approved the tender.
