ERIN – The town of Erin has appointed two new full-time risk management inspectors.
Town of Erin risk management official Kyle Davis presented a request to council to pass bylaws to appoint Danielle Fisher and Kim Funk as risk management inspectors.
“As council will be aware, there are four staff in the unit – myself and three others,” said Davis at the March 27 meeting.
“Danielle Fisher and Kim Funk have been serving as source protection coordinators for the last few years and when we look at the work that’s been completed and the work that’s coming up we realized that there was a need to reorganize and promote both Ms. Funk and Ms. Fischer.”
According to the report shared, as “implementation of the [source water protection] program matures, there will be an increase in the demand for inspections and other regulatory compliance activities across the county. Two additional risk management inspectors would help to lessen the load.”
The report also states both Fisher and Funk have completed the required provincial training and posses the necessary experience and credentials to serve as risk management inspectors and alternate risk management officials.
Davis told council the town’s 2025 budget would cover the costs of the increase in pay and benefits and the promotions would have no financial impact on the town’s budget.
There were no questions from council and the bylaw was passed unanimously.
